ah, A/C...

so, I caved in... and I'm enjoying the air conditioning in Racine, WI right at this very moment! :) I drove home this afternoon at the urging of my mom and I'm glad I did!

I always love coming home. I can't say that I love staying for TOO long at a time (I get bored in Racine!) but I love seeing my mom and getting to have quality time. Now is the time to enjoy that... :)

My mom got a haircut which looks GREAT! She's gone short again for the first time in ages and it definitely took about 5 years off! Go mom, you're so pretty!

So the reason I didn't head home until afternoon was because I saw Pat McCurdy at the Annex last night so I wanted to sleep in-- as usual Pat was funny and slightly offensive to EVERYONE and as an added bonus we got free pizza at the intermission! Toppers delivered! Another added bonus was the cute friend of Mary's who was there. Turns out he works at the same company my brother does... so that was a cool little "connection" hehe. Also means he's probably pretty smart too... good thing! Unfortunately, although he was friendly, he didn't seem that interested--especially compared to somewhat old, somewhat long-haired "Pipe Jim" (Pat's sound techie) who came over and hit on our entire table! Eh well...

Today was a great day so far though, I got to hang out and have lunch with my mom and just chat, and then we went to the US Cellular store and followed up with a trip to milaegers'. I love that store, it's so full of interesting stuff!

So I think that's about all the news. I'm done! :)

Happy Hour Anyone?

So yesterday I went down to Milwaukee to visit just for the evening, Jenna and I were talking online and it went something like this:

me: what are you up to?
jenna: heading out to happy hour in a bit
me: sounds fun
jenna: what are you up to?
me: it's boring and sweltering hot here
jenna: you should come to milwaukee
me: um... ok

yeah not that interesting of a conversation but you see how completely random my trip to milwaukee was. Turned out to be fun though--

Jenna, Kim, Jenny and Chris were all there and I hadn't seen any of 'em in a little while. Chris I hadn't seen in over a year, not since before Chad and I broke up! We enjoyed a $1 miller lite or 2 at Mel's on Water St and then headed for some BW3s... I hadn't hat hotwings in AGES so I enjoyed myself! ;)

I think I told both Chris and Jenny like about 100 times each how happy I am for them, it was really exciting to see them together again and knowing that they're getting engaged soon... wow!

We also ran into some strange guys who were in a band-- I guess I'll check out the music it could be good, but the guys were definitely uh, interesting. The one guy first said he was Stubhy's little brother-- and when he saw that didn't fool us he claimed to be a psuedo-little brother... but I don't know about that. (For a reference for those unaware-- Stubhy is the lead singer of what used to be like my almost-favorite band for a while, Lucky Boys Confusion)

Anyway so then I worked today from 9:30-about now, and that was ok. There's a guy at work, who I have a great TIME with and can totally joke around with, but he doesn't do much work and THAT annoys me because I'm always working my BUTT off. Guess it's one of the downfalls of having a good work-ethic, those who don't get to have a free ride because those who DO work hard enough to make up for thier LACK of working... grr... what if "Atlas Shrugged," huh?

Another cool thing-- I got my invite to Jim's wedding today!! it's pretty and white with pink... it says "Emily and Guest" but I don't know if I have anyone who I would take or want to take... since I'm a bridesmaid I might not be able to "take care" of a guest. It would be one thing if I were dating someone and whatever, another thing just to bring a friend. Eh well, I've got 15 days to think about it.

I like my humidity in rain form

It is SO humid today... I can't hardly stand it! I'm this close (imagine me making very small gesture with my hands) to driving myself all the way home JUST to be in A/C...

at least it is a little cooler-- I think that a front must've come through yesterday!

so, Tia and I hit up Batman Begins at U Square Theaters and it was awesome. Everyone go see it, now. Also, something that made me smile-- the guy who plays bruce wayne is the guy from Newsies! :) how cute!! Not only was our night out at the movies awesome because the movie rocked but it was interesting... for 2 reasons. I love adventures... hehe-- so as Bullfeather's regulars, we know the bouncers pretty well... and who should we run into walking to the theater but Sonny, a Bullfeather's bouncer. It was a little bit awkward... we like, went to the movie "with and not with" him, because he sat by us and like, waited for us to go into the theater but we hardly said anything to each other and it was just wierd. Go figure! lol

Second part of the adventure was that as we left the building it was POURING, like, I could've been sitting under a showerhead!! SO we waited like 5 mins to see if it let up since Tia had a WHITE TSHIRT on... but it didn't so we said "screw it" and walked the whole way back to my place-- by the time we got there we were DRENCHED... gotta love it

today was uneventful so far, first work and now I'm debating going home but I want to go to church tonight, so I don't know...

oh, my friend Matt has some amazing pictures from germany that everyone should see: www.mattbents.com They are really good!

someday maybe I'll get some Paris pics up somewhere. :)

from something a friend's brother said:

Love is not a feeling. Feelings & emotions are a part of it, but is by no means the majority. Even when we feel like throwing the other person out the window, we must still choose to love them.

I like it. Something I wish more people today realized... love is a choice...

Home Again Home Again

isn't that a line from the little piggie song? yeah I guess I'm still crazy

So I realized (mainly because I got shit for it) that I didn't really use this to keep ANYONE updated on Paris while there... and have since thought about posting all the emails I sent to people to tell about paris... but I think I will remain too lazy for that.

It's good to be home though.

Two days ago I got to have dinner with my whole family for my mom's 60th birthday!! I can't believe she and my dad are both turning 60 this summer. We ate at a really nice little restaurant in Waukesha called Louise's... and there was a cute bartender! Does it get better? hehe.

I've been back waitressing at the fluno for a few shifts now... I can't say I like starting at 6:00 in the morning... it certainly puts a damper on any nightime plans. But it will be nice to have money to start paying off credit card bills from Europe. Euros were so darn expensive while there you wouldn't believe it!

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the Brewers DID in fact beat the Twins last night... something I wouldn't know or care about except for the being at the game part of it. It was a fun thing, I love tailgating and can't wait for football season to begin again JUST to tailgate! :)

My brother's wedding is coming up fast-- the bridesmaid dresses should be in by the end of this month... in theory. so that's fun the housewares shower and lingerie shower are close to entirely planned and should be fun...

I love weddings! My cousin's was a couple weeks ago too and that was really nice. It was one of the few and probably last times our whole DuRocher side of the family was able to be together. My Uncle Pete is still doing well, and we're all hoping for a miracle but at the same time you need to be realistic. His last MRI scan showed that the tumor wasn't any bigger but also wasn't any smaller... so chemo isn't "curing" it's just holding the cancer at bay. I'm kind of scared about what will happen when he does get worse... the tumor is right by his memory centers and stuff, so what if he forgets who we all are? Anyway, say a prayer for him and his family. Already he got the blessing of being able to be at his daughter's wedding... so that's amazing! :)

That's about all folks. Maybe I'll continure with keeping this up, my friend Emily does an amazing job with her blog and I had this idea in my head that I would keep mine up to date too... but so much for that! :)
